Old wood, new tricks

This twisted, tortured piece of driftwood was innocently sunning itself on a riverbank, when I adopted it to begin a new life as a sculptural piece.  It is now skewered on a recycled rusty metal pole, which is drilled into a weighty plinth, a chunk of sandstone unearthed in the garden.
